William Robinson
I William Robinson of Burscough in the county of Lancaster, husbandman,
being if sound mind (thanks to the Almighty) do for the setting my temporal
concerns make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner
following -
First it is my will and mind that all my just debts, funeral expenses and the
charges of the probate and execution of this my will shall be paid as soon as
conveniently maybe after my decease.
I give and devise unto my son Richard all that my messuage or dwelling house,
gardens and premises with the appurtenances situate lying and being in Burscough
aforesaid and now in the occupation of John Breakell as tenant thereof, to hold
to him my said soon Richard, his heirs and assigns for and during all my term
and interest herein.
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy the sum of fifty pounds which is at
this time in the hands of my son James.
I give, devise and bequeath the rents, issues and profits of all those
several closes, closures or parcels of improved moss land situate, lying and
being in Burscough aforesaid and now in the occupation of my son-in-law Robert
Hewitt as tenant thereof unto my three daughters Margaret, Ellen and Esther till
such time as they shall have received the sum of five pounds apiece, and from
and immediately after they shall have received the said sum, I give, devise and
bequeath the rents, issues and profits thereof unto my said daughter Nancy, her
heirs and assigns for and during all my term and interest therein.
And whereas I have lodged in the hands of my said son-in-law Robert Hewitt the
sum of five pounds I order and direct that he shall pay the same into the hands
of my executors immediately after my death for and towards my funeral expenses.
And also whereas my son-in-law William Culshaw in indebted to me the sum of
seven pounds I order and direct that he shall pay the same into the hands of my
executors immediately after my death for and towards the uses of my will.
I give and bequeath unto my wife Betty the sum of five shillings in lieu of one
third of my property.
And the rest, residue and remainder of my property and effects (if any) I give
and bequeath the same unto my two sons Richard and James equally between them
share and share alike.
And lastly I hereby revoke and annul all former wills by me made and nominate
and appoint my said two sons Richard and James executors of this my last will
and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty fourth day of
June in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen.
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the Said testator William Robinson as
and for his Mark and seal of Last will and testament in the presence Of us, who
have in his sight and presence William Robinson Hereunto set our names as
witnesses Attesting the execution hereof

On the twenty third day of September 1816 Richard Robinson one executor within
named (power being reserved to James Robinson as executor also named to take
upon himself the execution of the said will when he shall lawfully require the
same) & he further made oath that the personal property & effects of the
testator were under the sum of one hundred pounds before me
G Ford, surrogate
The testator died on the tenth day of August 1816.
