John Hodson
In the name of God Amen. I John Hodson of Swavesey in the county of Cambridge Yeoman being infirm in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory. Do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) principally I commend my soul into the merciful hands of Almighty God hoping through his merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my saviour to ........pardon and forgiveness for all of my sins, my body to the earth to be buried and as to those worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof in manner and form following.
First I give and devise this messuage or tenement with the appertunances wherein I now dwell to my loving wife Anne Hodson for and during the form of her natural life on her continuing my widow She paying therout the sum of £5 a year being the interest which will grow due on the mortgage of the said premises.
Item I give and and bequeath to my said wife all the household goods now standing in my said dwelling-house together with three cows and my will is that my said wife shall maintain and keep my son John Hodson until he shall attain the age of 13 years out of the said profits, and after her decease or other deformination? I give and devise the said estate to my said son John Hodson for and during the form of his natural life and after his decease to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and in default of such issue I give and devise the same to John Radford of Swavesey ...... (son of a Thomas Radford) and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such issue I give and devise the same to John Radford son of William Radford of Swavesey oforsaid and to his seed and for the want of such issue I give and devise the same to the heirs of the Hodsons of my family and for want of such issue I give and devise this same to the crown of England for ever.
Lastly all the rest of my goods and chattels not known before bequeathed I give and bequeath to my said son John Hodson whom I made sole executor of this my last will and testament so paying my debts and funeral expenses he by revoking all former Wales by me made and I hereby authorise and appoint William Corfe of Over in the county of Cambridge and John Noble of St Ives in Huntingdonshire to be trustees or guardians for my said son and to..... and dispose of my goods and pay my just debts and to be otherwise assisting him and I do

give each of them a Guinea for their trouble in witness whereof I have done this my last will and testament contained in two sheets of paper set my hand and seal this 5th day of March in the year of our Lord 1739.
Signed sealed published and declared by the said testator as his last will and testament in the presence of us for who in his presence subscribed our names as Witnesses.

Letters and the administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased together with the will thereto annexed were granted to John Noble one of the trustees or guardians lawfully appointed to John Hodson a minor the executor within named reserving power to William Corse the other trustee or guardian therein named during the minority of the said executor he the said John Noble been first sworn in due form of law .
