Edwards Guylott
The last will and testament of me Edwards Guylott of Holywell cum Needingworth I give and devise all that my copyhold, commonable messuage or Tenement situate standing and being in Needingworth aforesaid late the estate of Henry Turner and also all that my close of pasture commonly called or known by the name of the Saltings in Needingworth aforesaid late the Estate of Thomas Robinson with their and every of their appurtenances unto and to the use of my sister Ann Smith widow her heirs and assigns forever.
Item I give and devise all and every other my Freehold and copyhold messuage cottage lands tenements and hereditaments was so ever situate standing lying and being in Holywell cum Needingworth aforesaid with their and every of their appurtenances (subject to and chargeable with the payment of the several Legacies or sums of money herein after given and bequeath and charged thereon) unto and to the use of my nephew John Thorp of Holywell aforesaid husbandmen (son of my late brother in law Joseph Thorp) his heirs and assigns for ever.
Item I give and bequeath unto my nephew Samuel Thorp son of my late brother in law Joseph Thorp
Unto my niece Lucy the wife of Thomas Cole of Swavesey Cambridge husbandman.
Unto my nephew Joseph Thorp son of my said late brother-in-law Joseph Thorp.
Unto my niece Mary Norman the wife of John Yeoman of Long Stanton in the said County of Cambridge husbandman
Unto my niece Charlotte Mason wife of Edward Mason of Swavesey aforesaid husbandmen the sum of £150 apiece of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to them respectively by my said nephew Joseph Thorp at the expiration of 18 calendar months next after my decease.
Item I give and bequeath unto my said sister Ann Smith and unto my nephew Edward Thorp and Samuel Thorp (sons of my brother in law Samuel Thorp) the sum of £20 a piece of lawful money.
Item I give them bequeath unto James Bright of Holywell cum Needingworth aforesaid husbandman the sum of £10 of like lawful money. All which last mentioned Legacies I direct to be paid by my said nephew John Thorp at the expiration of 12 calendar months next after my decease. And I do hereby charge subject and make chargeable or my messuages cottages lands tenements and hereditaments herein before devised to my said nephew John Thorp and his heirs to and with the payment of all the several Legacies before mentioned and each and every of them. And they do hereby exonerate? all my personal estate there from And as for and concerning all my personal estate of what nature or kind whatsoever I give and bequeath the same unto my said nephew John Thorp his executors and administrators for ever absolutely. And I constitute and appoint my said nephew John Thorp sole Executor of this my Will and hereby a revoking all former wills by me made.
I declare this to be my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I the said Edwards Guylott the Testator have to this my last will and testament contained in this and the preceding sheet of paper set my hand and...? To wit my hand to the bottom of the said preceding sheet of paper and my hand and Seal to this last sheet and my seal at the top of the said preceding sheet where both the said sheets are fixed together the 7th day of December in the year of our Lord 1793.
Contained in this and the preceding sheets signed and sealed and by him published Declared and for his last will and testament who at his request have hereunto and In the presence of each other.
Edwards Guylott signed and sealed.
